FAQ
What hotel should I stay at?
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at a discount at the Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown (that’s a mouthful). If you use our booking link (Hyatt.com, group code: G-MARU) you will get the listed rate minus another $125/night. Why not list that rate? Computers are a mysterious thing.
What about Airbnb?
If you have a larger group or just prefer the ✨vibes✨ of an Airbnb that’s cool. We recommend finding things in the Queen Anne, Uptown, or Belltown neighborhoods. Using distance alone can be deceiving as Seattle has many bridges over bodies of water and the freeway that create bottlenecks.
Do I need a car?
Renting a car is optional. Parking can be complicated and/or expensive and services like Uber and Lyft are robust here. A taxi from the airport costs around $50 while parking at many hotels is $45-$50/day.
Ruth & Matt will not be driving to the party. If you plan to drink we strongly recommend you do the same.
Is there a dress code?
Wear whatever makes it feel like a party to you. Maybe that’s shorts (👋🏻 Hi, Ronnie), maybe a top hat and tails. Some people like to get a little fancy – go for it.
Can my kids come?
Children are welcome. Ours will be there and we hope to see others.
What should I do with my other time in Seattle?
We know that a fair number of guests have not been to Seattle before. We put together a short list of things we like to do. You can check there for ideas or reach out with info about interests and we might have other suggestions.
