What to do around Seattle
Check Out Seattle
-

Ballard Locks
Visit the working lock between the fresh water of Lake Union and the salt water of Puget Sound. Often filled with personal and commercial crafts. There is also a salmon ladder adjacent to the small dam.
-

Pike Place Market
The Market has a little bit of everything, except people. It usually has a TON of people. We highly recommend the lower levels of the market. Quieter with slightly quirkier shops.
-

Breweries
Seattle is home to a selection of great small breweries. Most of the tasting rooms are family friendly to boot. I’m sure you can Google but Ruben’s, Stoup, Cloudburst, and Old Stove are a good start.
-

MOHAI
If you like museums the Seattle Museum of History & Industry is one of our favorites. Next door is the Center for Wooden Boats, which is a nice stroll.
-

Olympic Sculpture Park
If the weather is nice (possible in October, but not assured) the sculpture park is wonderful. Right on the water, not far from the Space Needle, and free.
-

Seattle Center
The area below the Space Needle includes the monorail, Museum of Popular Culture, and the Chihuly Gardens (a local glass artist’s museum).
-

Snoqualmie Falls
If you do have a car the Snoqualmie Falls in the Cascade mountains east of Seattle are pretty amazing.
